Foods With Benefits: Almonds

Almonds are so amazing. I've been eating them left and right: almond milk (which is higher in calcium than milk!), almond butter, plain ol' roasted almonds, almonds tossed in chili name it! Here are some health benefits on almonds:

  • High in essential minerals, calcium, and magnesium
    • essential nutrients help with energy production and help metabolize fat
  • Best whole food source of vitamin E
    • a powerful antioxidant that keeps skin smooth and moisturized
    • also helps with muscle repair (after a workout) - hello, almond butter and apples anyone?
  • Contains a combination of fiber, protein and healthy fats
  • They are filling and have a low glycemic impact to keep your blood sugar from spiking (Translation: they are an amazing snack)
