Foods with Benefits: Mood Boosting Superfoods Part 1

Hi Everyone!
Here are some amazing mood boosting superfoods you all should try out!!

1.     Tomatoes:
·         molecule that cause red, orange, and yellow hue is due to carotenoids,
o   Carotenoids are antioxidants that counteract the damage caused by free radicals
o   people with high blood levels of carotenoids have lower rates of memory loss and dementia
·         add one serving (about a cup) of tomatoes to your everyday diet (whether it is fresh, or tomato-based sauces
2.      Whole Grains
·         try not to eat too many carbs
·         choose whole grains over the processed grains
·         to boost happiness: two cups of air-popped popcorn or whole-grain graham crackers
3.      Fatty Fish
·         since more than half of the brain is made of fat, omega-3 fats DHA and EPA are crucial to your mood
o   found in fish such as salmon and mackerel

·         eat at least two servings of seafood, especially fatty fish, each week
